I was ignoring promotional opportunities as I had a lot of family responsibilities and wasn’t sure I could put my career first and felt advancing in the organisation may not suit my family circumstances. Through my coaching sessions with Angela I realised that going for promotion did not necessarily mean less family time and I had never really challenged my beliefs about this. I also realised through coaching that I needed to network more, requested mentoring and developed the confidence to apply for a number of roles before identifying and securing a promotional role that brings career stretch opportunities for me as well as fitting in with my family situation
